Computing Facilities

Server_Room_1 Server_Room_2

EEE Department has a dedicated server room equipped with high-end CPU and GPU servers,  workstations, network storage servers (NAS) and UPS units to provide 24x7 computing facilities to undergraduate and postgraduate students. The multi-processor servers running the Linux/Windows operating system help end-users to run highly computationally intensive simulations related to Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Device modelling, Power Systems, Communications, Signal Processing, Image Processing and other areas using various simulation software/packages.

A few of the major licensed software used for simulations by the students in the department are:

  • Ansys HFSS - 3D High Frequency Structure Simulation Software
  • Dassault Systèmes CST Studio Suite - 3D EM analysis software
  • Synopsys TCAD - 3D technology modeling software
  • Synopsys QuantumATK - Atomic-scale modeling software
  • PSCAD - Power Systems EMT Simulation software
  • MathWorks MATLAB – simulation software

The key hardware specifications of a few CPU/GPU servers, GPU workstaions and NAS present in the department are:
